The Mexican Caribbean which is made up of Cancun, the Riviera Maya and several nearby areas are served by ferry service or as many know it, the Ferry service.
This service is a maritime public transportation whose objective is to transfer people from one of the ports or maritime terminals to one of the 3 most well known islands of the Mexican Caribbean. These islands are Holbox Island, Isla Mujeres and Cozumel Island.
Is it possible to get from Holbox Island to Isla Mujeres? No, unfortunately there is no shipping route that can take you from Holbox Island to Isla Mujeres. And before you ask, you can’t get from Holbox Island to Cozumel either.
Is it possible to get from Isla Mujeres to Cozumel Island? No, there is no direct sea route from Isla Mujeres to Cozumel or from Cozumel to Isla Mujeres. In fact, there is no route from Cozumel Island to Holbox Island either.

Cancun to Isla Mujeres Ferry
Are you in Cancun and want to visit Isla Mujeres? The city of Cancun has 3 seaports to take the ferry to Isla Mujeres. Two of them are part of the Ultramar company and 1 of them belongs to the Xcaret group company
El embarcadero
The port “El embarcadero” is located at kilometer 4.5 of Cancun’s hotel zone and the Xcaret group company is the shipping company that makes the transfers from this place.
The price of the ferry in “El embarcadero” is 290 MXN for adults and 220 MXN for children. It is worth mentioning that this price is only for the one way trip. This means that the return trip will cost 290 MXN for adults and 220 MXN for children.

Tortugas Beach
Playa Tortugas is one of the most beautiful beaches in Cancun and one of the most complete in terms of restaurants, lounge chairs, umbrellas, mini super, parking and of course: The ferry to Isla Mujeres.
From here you can take the ferry to Isla Mujeres belonging to the overseas company and its cost is 270 MXN for adults and 200 MXN for children.
Remember that this cost refers to a single trip (one way) and the return trip has a similar cost.

Caracol Beach
Playa Caracol is the last maritime terminal that we will find in the city and is located at km 9 of the hotel zone. The ferry prices from this point are the same as the ferry prices at Playa Tortugas. That is: 270 MXN single trip for adults and 200 MXN single trip for children.

Ferry Puerto Juarez to Isla Mujeres
Do you want to go to Isla Mujeres earlier? Then none of the docks in Cancun will do the trick. But the one in Puerto Juarez does.
Puerto Juarez is a small fishing village located less than 10 minutes from the city of Cancun. A quiet, calm place which has its own marine terminal to get to Isla Mujeres.
But unlike the other maritime terminals that we find in Cancun. The port of Puerto Juarez has the best departure, return and even one way schedules.
Its first departure to Isla Mujeres is at 5:30 am and the last trip to Isla Mujeres is at 11:00 pm. In fact, this terminal has 19 departure times to Isla Mujeres.
The cost of the transfer is 270 MXN single trip for adults and 540 MXN single trip for children. But if you are a resident of the state of Quintana Roo the ferry ticket costs 100 MXN for adults and 66 MXN for children.

Planning to spend a few days in Cozumel? Cozumel is the largest island in the Riviera Maya, that’s no secret and it’s also no secret that the island is located in the coastal area of Playa del Carmen.
